چکیده

We derive optimal estimators of a linear combination of the responses, under the random permutation model, incorporating auxiliary information and response error. In particular, we propose estimators of a measure of association, that is named B and defined farther in (1), between a response and an explanatory variable based on a simple random sample obtained without replacement from a finite population. We illustrate the method with numerical examples. We also obtain the variance of the estimators and show that they have a smaller mean square error than the ordinary least squares estimator via a simulation study.

Use of Auxiliary Information in a Design-based Random Permutation Model ¶

This paper illustrates that prediction techniques, commonly used in model-based approach, can be applied to incorporating auxiliary information in design-based estimation. Design-based estimators of population parameters (such as mean or total) under simple random sampling without replacement using auxiliary information are developed by extending the designbased prediction method of Stanek, Sin...

Design-based random permutation models with auxiliary information¶

We extend the random permutation model to obtain the best linear unbiased estimator of a finite population mean accounting for auxiliary variables under simple random sampling without replacement (SRS) or stratified SRS. The proposed method provides a systematic design-based justification for well-known results involving common estimators derived under minimal assumptions that do not require sp...

Estimation of finite population parameters with auxiliary information and response error.

We use a finite population mixed model that accommodates response error in the survey variable of interest and auxiliary information to obtain optimal estimators of population parameters from data collected via simple random sampling. We illustrate the method with the estimation of a regression coefficient and conduct a simulation study to compare the performance of the empirical version of the...

Estimating Realized Random Effects in Mixed Models

A common analysis objective is estimation of a realized random effect. The parameter underlying such an effect is usually defined as an average response of a realized unit, such as a cluster mean, domain mean, small area mean, or subject effect. The effects are called random effects since their occurrence is the result of some (actual or assumed) random sampling process. In mixed models, random...

The oil film Parameters Identification in Gasoline Engine Transient Conditions Based on Recursive Finite Memory Auxiliary Variable Method

In order to identify the engine inlet oil film parameters more accurately, the oil film identification equation based on oil film model is built under the consideration of random error which is consisted by model error and measurement error. For the purpose of eliminating the influence of random error to the identification results, Recursive Auxiliary Variable (RAV) is put forward. At the same ...
